Spay/Neuter Clinics Reach Those Most in Need!

285 cats of low-income guardians were spayed and neutered at a subsidized rate in Boulder County as a result of a generous grant from PetSmart Charities! We determined the areas where we intake the most stray and relinquished kittens and focused our outreach on these areas. We collaborated with Denver Dumb Friends League and used their Meow Mobile, a mobile spay/neuter unit. By comparing zip codes, we found that the majority of the cats we sterilized did indeed come from the areas we most wanted to reach. The project was a success! We continue to monitor the intake and relinquishment of kittens from these areas and hope to see a decrease in numbers as a result of the project too.
