Save the Lives of Homeless Pets
PHOENIX (Sept. 1, 2006) - PetSmart Charities will offer two holiday-themed fundraising items at all U.S. and Canadian PetSmart locations beginning November 1 (and until supplies last). The first item is a package of white wrapping paper featuring holiday dogs or red wrapping paper featuring holiday cats. The second item is the collectible cat or dog Luv-A-Pet® ornaments.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of both items will benefit animal welfare agencies that help save and improve the lives of homeless pets.
Each package of wrapping paper sells for $1 and contains one sheet of 20” x 30” dog or cat holiday-themed wrapping paper and a $5 coupon redeemable for Pedigree® dog food or Whiskas® cat food. The wrapping paper fundraiser is sponsored by Mars, Pet Care, the maker of Pedigree, Whiskas and Shmackos®.
Each Luv-a-Pet® ornament is designed exclusively for PetSmart Charities featuring a three-dimensional hand-painted cat or dog figurine wearing a Santa hat and cheerfully playing with a red glass ornament. Each ornament sells for $10.
The annual Luv-a-Pet holiday fundraiser began in 1999 with a collectible dog ornament (entitled “Snow Puppy”) and cat ornament (entitled “Snow Kitty”) each holiday season.
