PetSmart Charities names directors of finance, philanthropy
PetSmart Charities announces two new hires in key positions for the Phoenix-based charity.
Jan Elliott has been named Director of Philanthropy and Susan Gulig has been named Director of Financial Operations.
Elliott is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She joins PetSmart Charities from the Humane Society of the United States, where she was National Director of Special Gifts. Elliott’s career in development spans more than two decades and includes senior development positions at the American Heart Association, March of Dimes and Interfaith Housing of Western Maryland.
As Director of Philanthropy for PetSmart Charities, Elliott directs and implements comprehensive programs to increase philanthropic investment from individuals, corporations and foundations. She has three children and has been a pet parent to a host of cats and dogs.Gulig joined PetSmart Charities from the Texas A&M Foundation, where she served as Director of Development for the College of Education and Human Development. From 1981 to 2000, Susan was a financial manager with Atlantic Richfield Company, where she held numerous positions, including controller of the refining and marketing division. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and received her MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.
As Director of Financial Operations for PetSmart Charities, Gulig manages all financial aspects of the rapidly growing $25 million organization including investment, accounting, financial reporting and analytical activities. Her role also involves setting business and financial strategies and improving financial and operational processes.In addition, she is pet parent to two dogs, Nugget and Darby.
