PetSmart Charities® Fills Key Positions with Industry Experts (Phoenix) – PetSmart Charities, Inc., a Phoenix-based nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce the addition of four staff members to its team: Karin Bishop, Gina Ewert, Julie White and Vanessa Mosher. “Karin, Gina, Julie and Vanessa each bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their fields,” said Susana Della Maddalena, executive director of PetSmart Charities, Inc. “We are very happy to have them on board and know they will effectively contribute to the achievement of our vision of a lifelong, loving home for every pet.” Karin Bishop has taken the role of senior program manager for field capacity building, planning and evaluation and grants management. Bishop comes to PetSmart Charities from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, the largest private foundation in Maricopa County, where she served as grants manager since 2001. Her past experience also includes work as vice president of community affairs for Valley of the Sun United Way and community director for March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. Bishop is a board member of the Grants Managers Network, a national affinity group of grant manager professionals. Bishop is a pet parent to two cats. Julie White joins PetSmart Charities as program manager for spay/neuter services. Previously, White served as the executive director for the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project in the Seattle, Wash. area, which is the country’s first high-volume spay/neuter clinic focused on feral cats. Her previous experience includes working as the West Coast regional manager at No More Homeless Pets for Best Friends and serving on the board of directors for the Friends of King County Animal Control. White is a pet parent to three cats. She is based from her home office in the Seattle area. As the program manager for adoptions, Gina Ewert brings 15 years of experience working at PetSmart, Inc., where she most recently worked as a project manager of store learning. Ewert has an understanding of associate training, inventory management and marketing. She worked with PetSmart Charities as a program coordinator from 1997 to1999. Ewert is a pet parent to one dog and numerous horses, donkeys, pigs, chickens, goats, cows and llamas. Joining the team as the Electronic Communications Manager is Vanessa Mosher, who comes to PetSmart Charities from PetSmart, where she’s been since 2004. Prior experience includes work as a project analyst in Information Systems and as the online content producer on the PetSmart marketing team. Mosher has also worked for a variety of public and private companies as an internal communication specialist, web communication specialist, user communication specialist, writing consultant, manuscript reviewer and proofreader. Her pet family includes seven cats, five horses, two dogs, two chinchillas, one rabbit, one degu, one guinea pig, one parrot and fish.
