| Incident: | PetSmart Charities provided emergency relief supplies valued at more than $6,000 to TAILS Humane Society to assist with the removal and care of 300 pets from a woman's home in Rochelle, Illinois. Dekalb PetSmart Store Manager Dan Reints rented a U-Haul and personally delivered the supplies to the staging area. PetSmart District Manager Chuck Grimes and his family volunteered their time to assist with the pet victims on site. In total, 160 cats, 105 dogs and 35 birds were seized in addition to approximately 200 dead cats and 2 dead dogs. The home was littered with rusty cages and deceased and decaying corpses in the freezer, refrigerator and mutliple barrels. The owner is currently in county jail with a $35,000 bail. |
