PetSmart Charities® partners with thousands of shelters, rescue groups and animal welfare agencies in the U.S. and Canada to help them find lifelong, loving homes for pets through adoptions. Adoption partners receive many benefits:

• Animal welfare agencies receive free adoption space at their local PetSmart Charities Adoption Center located inside each PetSmart® store. Adoption partners can bring in homeless pets up to seven days a week to facilitate adoptions.

• PetSmart Charities provides up to $15 in adoption rewards funding for every pet adopted through the PetSmart Charities Adoption Center.

• Adoption partners also participate in our four, national-pet-adoption-weekend events held throughout the year. During these events, the agencies receive $25 in adoption rewards funding for each animal they adopt out, as well as the benefit of free marketing and promotion from PetSmart Charities and PetSmart.

• Adoption partners receive additional funding from the PetSmart Charities’ annual Luv-A-Pet® cash-giving program and Santa Claws® photo campaigns. These funds are raised in store through PetSmart customer donations and are allocated to our adoption partners based on the number of pets they adopted by the end of the calendar year.

By providing space to adoption partners in the PetSmart Charities Adoption Centers, homeless pets are given another location and additional opportunity for exposure to the pet-loving public, and the extra time they need to find lifelong, loving homes. Annually, about 400,000 pets find new homes thanks to this effort!
