My story

Devon (and Rex) were rescued from a local kill shelter where they had been brought in with their feral brown tabby mom and siblings, also tabby. The kittens were feral, but young enough to socialize. Devon and Rex were the only kittens in the litter with a curly coat, oddly enough, and the exotic look of the Devon Rex breed. Unfortunately, both kittens became extremely ill with the same virus that was going through all the shelter cats at the time, but they didn't rebound like the others and the virus settled in their right eye with both of them. Four different eye antibiotics were administered every few hours throughout the day with absolutely no effect. Their condition worsened and they both stopped eating for a few days and had to be given fluids and forcefed. Happily their appetite resumed and they seemed to turn a corner with the lethargy from the virus, but the eye continued to worsen to the point that poor Devon eventually lost her right eye. In hindsight, it is suspected that on top of the virus going through the other cats, these kittens had chlamydia, most likely contracted from their mama. Both are vetted and ready to go. They are unique looking kittens with super long tails and a thin curly coat. They are still babies, just over four months old, and love to spazz and play, but both are very sweet and affectionate, too. They LOVE whip cream and will come running at the sound of the lid coming off the canister. Both kittens get along with dogs and cats and would be fine with older kids over six. It would be great if they were adopted together, but this is by no means required. Devon is female and Rex is male. Having one eye does not slow this baby down in the slightest. If you like exotic and unique, these kittens are for you. Fill out an application and adopt one or both today! For further information please contact us at www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org/contact-us. Anyone interested in our cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. All our cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations. We do ask for a $140 adoption donation. To fill out an application on line, just go to www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and click on the Adoption Application link.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt REX - UNIQUE KITTEN & STORY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
