Roadie 2 years old Neutered male GSD Looking for adoption or new Foster home. Roadie came from the MCACC in early June. He was emaciated and had been diagnosed with tick fever. Roadie went directly into foster care with one of our volunteers. While treating Roadie for tick fever Roadie was also diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). Roadie was a skinny, sick boy. Roadie has been treated for his tick fever, and his EPI and is now thriving and gaining weight and was finally healthy enough to get his neuter completed. Despite Roadie’s rough start in life he has been such a good boy! Roadie has been working on manners. He knows his basic commands like sit, shake and stay and working on not jumping up. Roadie is house trained with a doggie door and has not had any “accidents” since the first week in his foster home. Roadie is a young GSD and LOVES to play, he can get along with a balanced, playful, larger dog. (has not been tested around small dogs or cats). Roadie is also very food motivated and learns very quickly and he embodies the term “Velcro dog”. Due to Roadie’s diagnosis of EPI he must be given supplemental enzymes every time he is fed. The enzyme supplements are relatively inexpensive are very easy to prepare and he can eat any type of food. EPI is a very manageable disorder and dogs with EPI can live full, healthy, normal lives. If you can give Buddy an indoor forever home or Foster home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/ We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks. Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Roadie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
