My story

I’m Teela, a wonderful shepherd hound dog mix who is a beautiful, curious, happy, cuddly, smart and mostly calm warrior goddess with a gentle disposition. I needed surgery when I first came to the Sedona shelter and I have been recovering with my fantastic foster parents. All healed now and ready to begin my real life adventure with a supportive, encouraging, and active family.I am crate trained, sleep well throughout the night and love to start my mornings with a good belly rub and a smile on my face. I am potty trained and progressing well on my leash walking skills because I’m intelligent, trainable, and motivated by food and your attention. I enjoyed walking with my foster parents but if your car is in the driveway, it will be difficult for you to get me to go for a walk. I adore a nice, long car ride with the wind blowing at me!I would be great with older kids because sometimes when I want your attention, I might touch someone with my giant paws and knock them over … I am not being mean but a little like a bull in a china shop. I don’t realize how big my feet are and I really enjoy shaking a stuffed animal in my mouth, with my tail wagging in happiness, and my tail sometimes feels like a whip itself. Sometimes I get overstimulated and forget my manners, but my foster parents redirected me very nicely. I am a great dog in a calm home. My foster family had two dogs, and I got along well with one of them. I am dog selective and think I’d like to be the only dog so I can gobble up all your affection and quickly bond with you. The companionship of a mellow friendly dog would be fun and may help me adjust. I don`t need much so please bring your dog with you when you come to meet me. I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and house broken.If you’re ready to love me Teela, a dog with a lot of heart, I am at the shelter and ready to love you back!
