My story

Addie’s write up as of 9/7/24 Addie is a big gentle baby. She wants to be a lap dog but recognizes she doesn’t fit the parameters. She’s sweet and submissive with her foster sisters & host dogs. She was abandoned on this past windy & rainy Easter & ended up on her Foster’s front patio. She remained there all day waiting for her owners to come back for her. The foster mom didn’t know she was there but saw the Ring videos later. After a little run around the neighborhood Addie let the foster mom bring her in her gate. It was obvious from first glance that this sweet girl had been used for breeding. They probably dumped her when they felt she was no longer profitable. Addie was really scared, and she didn’t want to come in the house for several days. It was obvious she’s never stepped foot inside before. She was disgustingly filthy. The foster mom bought her toys which Addie loved & she taught Addie to fetch. While running next to the pool, Addie slipped and fell in. The foster mom was right there to pull her out but the entire pool turned a dark brown/yellowish color. Obviously, Addie had never had a bath and she most likely lived in very filthy surroundings where she probably stood and laid in her own feces & urine. Since then, Addie slowly began to trust her foster mom & she has become the best dog! She’s loving. She’s sweet. She bows down to the alpha Chihuahua in the house. She likes to run in the yard & roll in the grass. No signs of food aggression have been observed but it’s always good to feed separately until the doggy introductions are safe. She has a cat in the home that she seems to have no interest in. The cat is separated but the dogs can see her through a doggy gate. She does bark when she hears the door , a loud car or if the pool company is servicing the pool, etc. She does stop barking when told to. She gives lots of kisses if asked for, but rarely unless requested. She was great with getting her nails clipped. She’s been good when she’s been in a kennel. It’s obvious she had experience in one before coming to the foster home. She uses the doggy door & will go potty when let out in the backyard which is separate from the dog run. She’s not had a lot of time on the leash, but when she has she didn’t pull at all. She is just a sweet girl looking to be spoiled so she can forget her past and just enjoy all that life has to offer moving forward.
