Dog Name: Nova Age: approx 4 years Gender: Female Breed: American Pit-bull Terrier Mix Weight: 40lbs Vaccinated: Yes Spayed: Yes Heartworm: Negative Microchipped: Yes Energy level: med to high Crate trained: Yes - when told to go in her crate she will. Doesn’t always like it and will let you know. But after a while she settles. Potty trained: Yes - with a schedule she is great. Dog friendly: She is great with my resident Beagle and Chihuahua that are both seniors. I think she would do great with slow introductions. Seems curious about other dogs on walks but also cautious. Cat friendly: Probably not a fit - she likes to chase squirrels and bunnies Kid friendly: Recommend for kids 16+ is working on some mouthiness but she never bites or acts aggressively. she expresses her excitement by chewing and playfully biting the air. However, when redirected with a toy it is manageable. Nova is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves rolling onto her back for belly rubs—it's her signature move. In the mornings, she greets you with a joyful tap dance and a playful pose, followed by an adorable howl. She rarely barks, except when prompted by our beagle, and her first experience with crating involved a dramatic but endearing show of protest as she demanded to speak to the manager. However, Nova is a cuddler at heart, often giving kisses and snuggling close. Her little gremlin piglet snorts can be heard when you pat her head and praise her. She has a sweet and energetic personality, enjoying fetch and food with equal enthusiasm. While she can be mouthy and a bit shy or cautious around new people and other dogs, her biggest challenge is being left alone for long periods, which can lead to destructive behavior if not crated. She free roams at night and we have no problems, but leaving the house is another game. Her love of food means she might rummage through trash if not properly secured, so a crate is usually the best option if she is not supervised. However, she responds quickly and accordingly when redirected. Nova would thrive in a home with another dog who can match her playful spirit or keep her company. She’s very adaptable, submissive and usually matches the mood of the household (with two senior dogs usually sleeping and relaxing). Despite her few quirks, she is one of the most loving and loyal dogs we've fostered and deserves a home where she can continue to be her goofy lovable self. She also rocks at sharing food, walking nicely on the leash, and wearing pajamas!
