My foster writes:He was very skittish at first, and hid from me but by the 3rd day he was out and roaming around my studio. He startles easily to loud noises. I have a cat tower and he spends most of his day in the house in the tower. He's very affectionate! By the fourth day he was up on my lap. I learned he liked being on my lap. If I'm sitting and reading on my sofa chair he'll come over and look up at me, as if to say, "Can I come up?" and if I say, "Aspen, come on up" he'll hop right on up. He loves to have his belly rubbed, sometimes he comes over to me and turns onto his back to show me his tummy. As for his being affectionate, he licks my hand and sometimes kneads me when sitting on my lap, and shows me his backside frequently. He loves wand toys! He does talk a lot, I think he does it to get attention, once I give him attention, he calms down. He is sweet and loving! A quiet person, perhaps an elder, (like myself) who would enjoy having him on their lap and petting him a lot, would be a good match and someone who would not be stressed by his meowing. I think children might be too much for his skittish nature. He does request a lot of play time, perhaps someone with another cat, a younger cat, so he'd have someone to play with, rather than an older cat. What my friends at ACC say about me:Aspen was at the back on his haunches, with large pupils and hissed when approached and pulled back and shrunk from petting with the scratcher tool without additional hissing and made as if to slink into the other kennel but didn't. Earlier when both cats were in the same kennel he also hissed when looked at by the assessor. When separated from his littermate he has remained largely the same.Aspen tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Primary Color: Black Tabby Weight: 10.8 Age: 5yrs 5mths 3wks
