Hi there! My name is Paper, and I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, you're the person I've been waiting for. I've been living at Central Arizona Animal Rescue for more than three and a half years. That's a long time for any dog to wait for a family. While I've made lots of friends here and everyone takes great care of me, what I really want is a place to call my own and people to love for the rest of my life. My story didn't start out easy. I came from a hoarding situation where over 140 dogs were living together outside. Because of that, I never got the chance to experience what most dogs do growing up. I didn't have a cozy couch, a backyard of my own, or a family to spoil me. But here's the amazing thing: despite my rough beginning, I absolutely love people. In fact, I think strangers are just friends I haven't met yet! Everyone here says I'm one of the sweetest dogs they've ever met. I don't look for trouble, and I definitely don't look for conflict. If another dog wants the best spot to lay down or the biggest treat, that's okay with me. I'd rather keep the peace and make friends. That's probably why I've become the rescue's go-to companion dog. Whenever a new dog arrives scared, stressed, or unsure about rescue life, I'm often the one they call on. I help nervous dogs relax and show them that everything is going to be okay. It makes me feel pretty special to help my fellow pups. Speaking of other dogs, I get along great with them! If you already have a canine companion at home, there's a good chance we'll become best friends. As for cats, I honestly don't know what to tell you. I've never been around them. The same goes for very small children. However, I've attended adoption events with lots of people, families, and activity, and I've always been an absolute gentleman. Once I get over my excitement and settle down, I think I'd do just fine with respectful kids who understand that I'm a big, happy guy. One of my favorite things in the world is getting outside and moving. Walks are wonderful, but if you're the adventurous type, even better! I'd love a family that enjoys jogging, hiking, running, or biking. If you're looking for a four-legged workout buddy who's always excited to join you, I might be your perfect match. Now, I do have a little learning to do. Since I've never actually lived inside a home, I'll need someone patient who can teach me all about indoor life. House manners, routines, and all those things many dogs learn as puppies will be new to me. But don't worry, I'm eager to please and ready to learn. If I've been able to adjust to rescue life and become a trusted companion to so many dogs, I know I can learn how to be a great house dog too. The good news is that I'm already ready for the important stuff. I'm current on my vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. All that's missing is my family. If you've been looking for a loyal friend with a gentle heart, a goofy smile, and enough love to last a lifetime, I'd love the chance to meet you. I promise to greet you with a wagging tail and my biggest smile. After waiting so long, maybe my forever home is finally out there. Please email mike@caaronline.org to schedule an appointment and meet me. I can't wait to meet you. â¤ï¸ Love, Paper "A house is just a building. A home is where someone is waiting for you.
