Approximate Age: 4.5 years old Approximate Weight: 31 lbs Meet Ferris! – Loyal, Intense, and Devoted to His Person ✅ Crate trained for eating and sleeping, and spent time in crate relaxing throughout the day ✅ Loves to spend time in sunny spots outdoors ✅ Thinks he’s a lap dog, and will plunk himself down without any regard for your personal space ✅ Rides well in a car, and gets excited to go on adventures ☑️ Has a big, deep bark and uses it often; probably not great for an apartment ☑️ Resource guarding tendencies; can coexiat with other dogs with proper direction and boundaries ❌ Not good with cats or small dogs Ferris is not a dog for a busy or multi-pet household — but for the right person looking for a deeply loyal, devoted companion, he has the potential to be an incredibly loving best friend. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated! Requirements And Donations * Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS). * Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards. * Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies. * Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available. Location And Hours * Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; Saturday 10 AM-4 PM. * We also host adoption events throughout our community.
