Penny

My story

Penny is a sweet and sensitive girl, approximately 6 months to 1 year old, weighing around 45 pounds. She’s been through a lot in her short life, but despite it all, her gentle spirit continues to shine. Penny was rescued from a shelter just hours before scheduled euthanasia due to overcrowding—through no fault of her own. When she arrived, she was malnourished and understandably shy. But thanks to love, safety, and regular meals, she’s starting to come out of her shell. She adores people and greets them with quiet affection. She’s nonreactive to other dogs and shows no signs of aggression or resource guarding. While she is still timid around other dogs, she is polite and just needs time to build confidence in their presence. Penny loves treats and is food-motivated, but she’s also still learning what it means to feel truly safe—often retreating to her crate after snacks for comfort. Her crate is her safe space, and she does well with a calm, patient routine. Penny is looking for a kind, understanding adopter who will give her the time and support she needs to blossom.
