Goldie

My story

Goldie is a shy 1-year-old black cat who’s been slowly finding his confidence since arriving at the shelter. At first, he spent most of his days curled up and hidden, especially when housed alone. We moved him in with Buzz—the cat he was surrendered with—to help him feel more secure, but Goldie still took his time adjusting. With patience and quiet presence, Goldie began leaning into gentle pets and seeking out hands for more affection. He’s even started sitting out of hiding more often and recently surprised us by meowing—a tiny, breathy squeak that’s simply the sweetest sound. Goldie has successfully coexisted with calm dogs and other cats and could thrive in a peaceful home with patient introductions. He’s also lived with children before and could potentially do well in a family again. While he can be adopted alongside Buzz, it’s not required. If you have a calm home and a lot of love to offer, Goldie would make a quietly devoted companion.
