My story

Meet Indigo – the little country hound with a big heart! Indigo is a petite Bluetick Hound with a speckled coat, a tail that never stops wagging, and the sweetest, most feminine little bay that’s sure to serenade you. At around 3 years old, she’s the perfect mix of grown-up calm and playful pup energy. She loves to zoom and romp with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy. Indigo is still brushing up on her leash manners—being a hound, she’s got a nose for adventure and can get a little excited when out exploring. With a little consistency and patience, she’ll make a great walking companion. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet, and while we haven’t had the chance to see her with children, we don’t have any concerns at this time. Because she can be a bit jumpy when excited, older or sturdier kids—or just some classic tough country kiddos—would likely be the best fit. One thing to know about Indigo: she is not a fan of storms. Thunder makes her nervous, so she needs to be inside during bad weather, and would do best with a family that can offer her extra love and support when the skies get loud. A cozy den, some cuddles, and a calm environment make all the difference for this sensitive girl. She’s the kind of pup who will fill your life with laughter, loyalty, and love—wrapped up in a speckled coat and a constantly wagging tail.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Indigo Mae, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
