My story

Rey is a mellow sweetheart who’s still learning to trust but shows glimmers of connection with every quiet moment. When you approach him, he'll rise gently to greet you, ears relaxed, tail softly wagging, and a look that says he’s curious, just a little cautious. Once outside, Rey stays close and engaged, enjoying his sniffing adventures. He’s gentle when taking treats and will nudge your pouch with quiet persistence, patiently waiting for more goodies. Rey would thrive in a peaceful home with people who understand the beauty of slow trust and quiet bonding. If you're looking for a thoughtful, low-key companion who appreciates gentle affection and soft encouragement, come meet Rey at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6pm VIDEOS Eating a treat https://youtube.com/shorts/uCNMqmPUcT0?si=UpkJZ5x_VZ8DBiIy BEHAVIOR 07/14/2025 staff notes: Kennel presentation: Laying on the floor, when I approached the front, he stood up with ears to the side, soft eyes, tail slightly higher than middle and wagging. Leash skills: Easy to leash and pulls hard outside: went potty right away. Sniffing a lot. Tail slightly higher than middle, ears back Sociability: Aloof initially, when I solicited interaction he came over with head lower, tail slightly higher than middle not wagging, soft eyes, mouth closed when I was touching him. He would walk away when I would remove my hands and readily come back over to me when prompted. Gentle taking treats, did not respond to any know cues like sit. Nudged my treat pouch a few times and patiently waited while I took out more with middle tail wagging and ears to the side. Play: No interest in play or toys Dog interaction: n/a Return to kennel: He stopped at the open door and looked at me with ears back and soft eyes, I used some baby talk and mild leash pressure and he walked in. Easy to remove the leash.
