My story

Maven is a 3-year-old, 11 pound female chi-terrier-doxie mix from Alabama currently thriving with her foster family in Ridgewood, Queens. This sweet and soulful girl has adjusted beautifully to city life and loves nothing more than being close to her people. She’s happiest on long walks around the neighborhood, munching on peanut butter treats, and curling up with her favorite blanket. Maven is smart and eager to please—she’s picked up “sit” quickly and is working on other basic commands. She's doing well with house training, with just a few accidents here and there. A consistent routine (we go out four times a day) and a little patience will help her continue to succeed. On leash, Maven is a dream. She’s calm and focused, though she’s still getting used to some of the louder city sounds. Each day, she gets more comfortable and confident. Maven does well in her crate both during the day and overnight, and she hasn’t shown signs of separation anxiety. She's an alert, affectionate, and happy pup who loves to snuggle up for a nap just as much as she enjoys an active stroll. Maven would thrive in a medium-to-active household where she can enjoy both movement and mellow time. She would do best as the only dog in the home—she’s shown signs of stress around other large dogs indoors, though she’s not leash reactive when passing other pups on walks. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts cuddlebug and adventure buddy, Maven just might be your girl! Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and microchipped. Spayed, heartworm negative, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To adopt Maven, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2459240##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maven, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
