My story

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 06/04/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Raleigh Puppy Mill bust Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Posie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 07/16/2025 she had a dental with extractions. Posie arrived in rescue from poor conditions. She and all the dogs in the home have been proactively treated for mange. Our best guess is that Posie is a maltese, but she came from a puppy mill where there were also chihuahuas and pomeranians. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 11 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? This gentle little soul isn’t just looking for a family — she’s looking for a lap to call home. Though Posie is peaceful and snuggly by nature, she’s not all naps and cuddles. She loves to play - mostly with her dog friends. She doesn’t require a canine companion. Especially if she will be soaking up all of the affection, but she would absolutely adore one, a calm, friendly pup to show her the ropes. Or a pup that will show her how to party like the 80s! Posie is looking for a family that understands the value of slow mornings, cozy afternoons, and affection offered freely and often. A family that sees her past not as baggage, but as a road she bravely walked to find you. What is my personality like? Meet Posie — The Lap-Loving Blossom with a Heart Full of Hope. If you're searching for a best friend who will quite literally never want to leave your side, look no further than Posie.  Posie is the kind of pup who melts into your hands with every gentle pet, offering a soft smile and a deep sigh of contentment. Her past may not have been kind, but it’s gifted her a quiet wisdom — she knows how to wait, how to listen, and how to love deeply when kindness is returned. Leashes - She’s not scared of them — she just doesn’t quite get the concept yet. Honestly, she'd prefer if you’d just carry her like the royalty she is. She's tiny enough, and let’s be honest… you won't want to put her down anyway. Posie is proof that love, when nurtured with patience, blooms beautifully.  If your arms are empty and your lap is available, Posie is ready to fill your life with softness, joy, and a love that will wrap around you like a warm blanket. How do I act when I first meet new people? Posie is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She'll come right up, say hi, and melt into your arms. Other tips and tidbits: Posie arrived in rescue as part of a puppy mill. We have no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition our veterinarian has aged her at 18 months old. We celebrate her birthday 01/01/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
