Online Adoption Application › Pepper was part of a hoarding case in Granville County being kept in very poor conditions.   ************************************************************************ UPDATE: Pepper's age is approximate, but she acts puppy-like. She came to our rescue pregnant and her babies were born June 6th. She originally was pregnant with 6 babies but only two survived. They are now old enough to be weaned, so mama is ready to be adopted. She is a great dog. Her name fits her....she is spicy and peppy! She has thus far been what we call a velcro dog.....she has one person she favors....but that may very well be because "that" person has been providing care for her babies. Pepper is very playful and loves little toys. She has gotten along well with her fosters' other dogs and cats, although she has been very protective of her babies and it is only when any of them get too close to the babies that she lets them know she doesn't like it! She loves to cuddle when she is ready to stop playing. She sleeps on the bed with her fosters' other pets. Pepper will make someone a fabulous pet! Once she has "dried up" she will be ready to be spayed. The adoption fee is $400, which covers  vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.  All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age.  Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed.
