Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 03/26/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Nala is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 05/28/25 she had a dental polishing. Nala arrived in rescue after living in very poor conditions. She has been treated for sarcoptic mange. Nala will need to continue on Nexguard to help her skin continue to heal through September 2025. Weight: 14.6 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? Nala is basically an Olympic hurdler in disguise. She can (and will) scale a six-foot fence if unsupervised, and she’s not even sorry about it. For this reason, while a fence isn't required, she’ll need to be leashed and supervised when outdoors, or she’ll be off chasing her dreams... and squirrels. What kind of home would be best for me? Nala has had more change in the past 3 months than most dogs would experience in a lifetime. Nala is looking for a home that is patient, quiet and comforting. Nala is very shy and needs adopters who will let her move at her own pace. She does best with routines, quiet confidence and people who understand that not all dogs come bounding into life headfirst. She gets along great with other dogs that are her size. Nala requires another canine friend in the home who can show her the ropes without overwhelming her. Nala will not be placed in a home with children as children may overwhelm her too much. A peaceful home without too much chaos would be her dream come true. This girl is not interested in the chaos of toddlers with tambourines or a calendar full of soccer practices. Nope — Nala is manifesting a quiet, peaceful home, preferably with a cozy fireplace, a big soft bed (or yours — she's not picky), and a steady routine. Think: retired life but with extra treats and some very specific bestie requirements. What is my personality like? Some dogs bloom quietly - and that is exactly the kind of dog Nala is. This sweet, shy girl wants to trust someone SO badly. She cowers and wags her tail now as a gentle gesture for “I love you, but I’m so scared to trust you” ... This sweet, sensitive girl wants to feel safe and secure. Nala is a soulful beauty with a heart as big as her past is heavy. Life hasn’t always been kind to her, and she carries a few emotional pawprints as proof. But what she’s really looking for now is simple: love, stability, and a daily schedule with fewer surprises than a bingo night. At the rescue, Nala tends to hang back and observe the world with her big, thoughtful eyes. She is not the first to rush up to you for attention, but once she trusts you - oh, the magic. Her love is so soft and sincere - the kind of love that sneaks into your heart slowly and stays forever. She may never be the life of the party, but she will absolutely be the calm in your storm, the shadow at your feet, the heartbeat at your side. She is a quiet girl who loves to sunbathe. Nala is also very intelligent and does well with potty training here at our facility. Leash walking is still new territory, so she will need some guidance and reassurance as far as that goes. While Nala may look like she’s ready for a nap, don’t be fooled — this girl can play like a puppy at recess. She LOVES other dogs and must have a canine partner in crime. Wrestling matches - She’s in. Fence running - Let’s go. Synchronized backyard zoomies - Say more. What makes Nala so special, though, isn’t just her playful side — it’s the way she loves with her whole heart. Once she trusts you (and that might take a minute), she’s all in. This girl feels deeply, loves fiercely, and hopes every day that the next hand she holds is her forever one. She wears her heart on her sleeve — and maybe a little in her eyes too. If you’re the kind of person who understands the healing power of patience, the importance of routine, and the value of a good doggy snuggle after a long day, Nala might just be the missing piece in your peaceful, playful, and love-filled puzzle. She’s ready to settle in — heart, paws, and soul. How do I act when I first meet new people? Nala is the kind of girl who warms up slowly, but once she loves you, she loves you with her whole heart - quietly, fiercely, and forever. It may take some time for Nala to trust you, but it all depends on your approach. If you move too quickly with her, she will shut down. However, if you take the time to let her some to you, she will begin to trust you. Confidence and patience is the key to win Nala over! Other tips and tidbits: Nala's birthday is 05/29/2022! House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. July 19, 2025, 7:24 am
