Corbatina Female DSH black with white Estimated age: 2 years Corbatina is a quirky little girl. She can be shy at first but after a few days she warms up and you start to see her playful and cuddly personality. She enjoys face rubs and treats. She will follow you around asking for pets and she has the SOFTEST fur ever. She has lived with other cats as well. She has permanent scarring on her right eye which is why it has a white opacity. It was likely from previous trauma or an ocular ulcer that wasn't treated when she was a kitten. It does not cause her any issues and she can still see perfectly fine and just gives her a unique look! Backstory: Corbatina came from a home in which there were over 70 cats living in and around the home! We've been able to help out with around 40 cats from this house so far but it has not been an easy task. A group of volunteers including a veterinarian from a local clinic had been going out to the house to pull cats to slowly chip away at the numbers. They were prioritizing sick cats, moms/kittens, and females who were not spayed as the main goal is to stop the cycle as quickly as possible. Corbatina was actually microchipped and vaccinated in July of 2024 while still in the home and was going to be brought to a foster as soon as one became available. Even though a spot had opened up for her, she decided to go MIA and was not around anytime the volunteers went to the house so we never got a chance to pull her. Fast forward a year and the owner brought her and multiple other cats to a vaccine clinic a local pet food pantry was hosting and a Fig and Friends' volunteer was there helping. The volunteer was actually the one who had been organizing all of the help at this house so she immediately recognized Corbatina and offered to take her into foster before she went missing again! Location: In foster Medical: All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption.
