Belly

My story

Belly is a sweet, 10-year-old pit bull mix who belonged to my uncle for the past eight years. He adopted her after she was in a car accident and almost died. She was his only dog and they were inseparable. When he became disabled and wheelchair bound, she stayed by his side at all times. When he died in hospice three weeks ago, she was under his bed. She still has puppy energy. She loves a walk, but is ready to come home after 1 mile. When other dogs bark at her, she ignores them and keeps walking. She is not okay with cats and can't be placed in a home that has any. But she is fine with other dogs and loving humans. She is super affectionate. She loves to have her belly rubbed and to snuggle on the sofa against a human watching TV. She has a strong stomach and can eat any kind of food without upset. She is protective of her humans and barks when they first get into a pool (she calms down after a few minutes) or when big noisy trucks pass by.
