My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Gomi Age: 3 years Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo Mix Color: White Weight: 25kg / 55lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was found abandoned in the mountains, where I had been attacked by a pack of dogs and suffered a severe eye injury. After becoming separated from the group, I wandered alone until I was rescued by the Angel Project. I received long-term medical care for my injuries, and thanks to dedicated treatment and love, I have now fully recovered. I’m safe, healthy, and ready to find a family who will never leave me behind again.   MY HEALTH • Fully vaccinated and neutered • Previously suffered a serious eye injury — fully healed with no ongoing issues • Underwent ear surgery due to chronic ear issues • Ears are currently stable, but require regular cleaning due to frequent earwax buildup • When my ears are very uncomfortable, I may vocalize loudly during cleaning, but I have never shown aggression or attempted to bite • Otherwise healthy   MY PERSONALITY My name is Gomi. I’m a gentle, kind-hearted boy with a soft soul. I may seem a little shy at first, but treats help me warm up quickly, and once I do, I enjoy being touched and handled. I’m extremely gentle with people and have a calm, affectionate nature that makes many feel protective of me. I’m the kind of dog who quietly stays by your side and looks to humans for reassurance and comfort.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS • With People: I’m very gentle and sweet with people. I warm up quickly with treats and allow handling easily. I can be picked up and held. I have not yet met children under 13. • With Dogs: I generally get along well with other dogs and enjoy greeting both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. I tend to feel comfortable with dogs similar to or smaller than my size. • With Cats: I have not yet been tested with cats. (A cat test can be conducted upon request to ensure the best fit.)   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy outdoor activities and walks, and once I’ve had my exercise, I relax calmly indoors. I have plenty of walking experience, walk nicely on leash without pulling, and follow my handler well.   TRAINING & HABITS I do not guard food from people, but when eating near other dogs, I may growl if they approach my food. I may bark when I want something. I’m calm and well-behaved in a kennel and usually prefer to potty outdoors. In new environments, I may mark initially. With structure and routine, I settle in well.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a loving, understanding family who can offer me stability and gentle leadership. I would do best in a home with:   • A family that values kindness, patience, and calm guidance • Experience managing multi-dog environments or willingness to supervise interactions • Comfort with routine grooming and ear care • A stable environment where I can finally feel safe and cherished   SPECIAL NOTES Gomi is a dog who has been through more than most, yet remains incredibly gentle and trusting with people. He has a soft heart and a quiet presence that makes you want to protect him even more. Once he feels safe, he forms deep bonds and stays close to those he trusts. Gomi would thrive with a family who can offer patience, stability, and kindness — the kind of home where he never has to worry about being left behind again. He truly deserves a forever family who will see him not for his past, but for the loving companion he is today.   Gomi's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2621962##
