My story

History: Misko was brought in by the OCN dog catcher, her brother had escaped. She was very shut down and fearful without him. When he arrived, she opened up a lot, however, he is also very dominant with her. She has not show any signs of aggression, except food aggression towards him (we separate them to eat).Meet Misko A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Safe Place to BloomMisko is a soft-eyed, black and white husky mix with a heart thats still learning how to trust. At just 7 months old, shes had a tougher start than most picked up by animal control with her brother, separated, and then reunited in a shelter setting where fear took the drivers seat. Her bond with her sibling helped her come out of her shell, but its clear she thrives when she has space to grow independently, especially with the guidance of another well-balanced dog.Currently in foster care, Misko is making small but meaningful progress. While shes still fearful of direct handling, she accepts food gently, licks fingers with curiosity, and finds comfort in the presence of calm, older dogs. Shes crate trained, nearly housebroken, and has shown no aggression toward humans just a bit of food guarding around other dogs, which is understandable given her background.Miskos ideal forever home is quiet, patient, and experienced with a fully fenced yard, a calm and confident resident dog to guide her, and humans who understand that trust is earned slowly.
