Joey was found on the side of a road in Fthiotida, Greece in early April 2026, alongside his brother Chandler. The circumstances were as heartbreaking as they come - some of their siblings had already passed, their mother fled into the bushes, and a third puppy was never caught. Joey and Chandler were the lucky ones, and they arrived at the shelter together, frightened, small and very much in need of a second chance. Born in early February 2026, Joey is still a very young puppy. He eats puppy kibble appropriate for his age, has no noticed allergies, and seems like the kind of dog who would eat absolutely anything given the chance. When Joey first arrived he was shy and cautious, which is completely understandable given everything he had just been through. Within a couple of days, that shyness evaporated almost entirely. He now greets people happily, loves belly rubs with his whole heart, and will wag, lick, and throw himself at you with the full enthusiasm of a puppy who has decided that humans are, in fact, wonderful. He doesn't have a favourite person - he loves everyone equally and without reservation. He is a proper puppy in every sense: active, playful, easily distracted, and operating on a cycle of intense energy followed by sudden and complete collapse. He is already surprisingly good at fetch, loves to run, enjoys chewing anything he can get his mouth on - toys, branches, your trousers, whatever is closest - and treats any patch of floor as an adequate bed. He hasn't found his full voice yet, mostly communicating through whines when his humans leave, which is both sad and completely adorable. His best friend in the world is his brother Chandler, and the two of them together are a masterclass in puppy chaos and joy. Joey would likely thrive with a canine companion to grow up with, though his future home will need to be ready for all the standard puppy realities - leash training from scratch, toilet training, chewing, the works. He hasn't been tested with children but his sweet, gentle nature suggests he would do well with them. Joey came from a roadside in Fthiotida with nothing. He now zooms around a shelter with his brother, belly-flopping for anyone who'll look at him. He is ready for a home that will give him the stability, training, and love he deserves - and in return he will give you everything a good dog has to give.
