Well… hello. My name is Chipotle, but everyone here just calls me Chip, and honestly, I like that better. It feels friendly, simple, and safe—kind of like the life I’m hoping to find next. I’m a young guy, somewhere between one and two years old, and only about 25 pounds, so I’m the perfect size for just about any home. Not too big, not too tiny… just Chip-sized. I came from Yuma, Arizona, wandering around as a stray with no idea what to do or where to go. I kept hoping someone would recognize me, call my name, or come looking—but nobody ever did. That part was hard. It’s scary being small in a big world, especially when you don’t know what’s going to happen next. But then the folks at Central Arizona Animal Rescue stepped in. They scooped me up, gave me a soft place to sleep, and told me I was safe now. I didn’t believe them at first. I was pretty scared—the kind of scared where you freeze up and don’t know who to trust. But little by little, I’ve started to settle in. Turns out the world isn’t quite as frightening when people are kind to you. I’ve been neutered, I’m current on all my vaccinations, and I’ve been microchipped, so I’ll never be lost again. That part makes me feel better than you might think. Knowing someone will always be able to find me… that’s a big deal for a dog who used to have no one. Right now, I share my kennel with two other dogs—one about my size and one who’s bigger. And guess what? We get along just fine. I’m polite, gentle, and I don’t try to be the boss. I’m the kind of dog who watches first, thinks second, and acts third. So if you already have dogs at home, I’d probably fit right in. As for cats or small children, well… I just don’t know yet. Nobody here has seen me around them, so we can’t say for sure. But I’m a sweet boy, and I try hard to be good. I’m still learning how to be brave. New things can make me pause, and loud noises or sudden movements sometimes make me shrink back a little. But every day I get a bit more confident. Every day I learn that hands can be gentle, voices can be kind, and people can be safe. I’m not a bold, fearless dog—not yet—but I’m becoming a hopeful one. What I really want is a family who sees me for who I am: a young dog with a soft heart, a gentle spirit, and a whole lot of love waiting to be given. I don’t need anything fancy. I don’t need a big yard or constant adventure. I just need someone patient, someone kind, someone who will let me blossom at my own pace. I’d love quiet evenings, soft blankets, calm voices, and the feeling of belonging. I’d love walks, treats, and learning new things. Mostly, I’d love you. If you think you might be the person who can help me grow into the confident, happy dog I’m meant to be, I’d really like to meet you. The rescue folks say all you have to do is send an email to mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be waiting—tail tucked at first, but ready to wag once I know you’re my person. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail. All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
