Sue

My story

I`m easy peasy Sue, a 7 year old 50 pound blind Catahoula Leopard dog who was transferred to Sedona from another shelter with two very painful and non visual eyes. The excellent medical team in Sedona was able to surgically remove my eyes and relieve my constant pain. I am a mature, calm, and now very happy and pain free girl who is a joy to be around. I can`t help but grin from ear to ear when I am being hugged and massaged by loving hands. I adore being around people and show my love by giving gentle hand kisses. I am still young at heart and have patience, lots of personality, and a cheerfulness about me. I had a day out of the shelter and showed off my canine skills at the Sunday Halloween Parade dressed as a basketball hoop, so I wouldn`t walk into things and injure myself. I walk well on a leash and follow your tucks on the leash to stay near my walker. The parade atmosphere was loud and exciting and I kept my cool, taking in all the energy and sounds, without being dog or people reactive. I may be unable to see but my sense of smell and hearing are well developed and really support me. With a little patience, consistency, and a safe environment, I will sense and learn of my surroundings and build confidence in your home. I may not be able to see you but I can always feel your love!I prefer to be the only dog in your home and require a safe predictable home where I`ll be pampered, massaged and fussed over so I can make up for the tough start to my life. In return you will have a pleasant loyal housemate that will show you the many different ways that life can be cherished and enjoyed together. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on my vaccines.Could you be the special person or family to create my new and happiest life yet in Sedona? I have been blind for most of my life and I`m now experiencing life without pain, hallelujah! So please call the Humane Society of Sedona at 928-282-4679 to schedule an appointment to meet me, easy going, and lovable dog angel Sue.
