My story

Andy is currently in foster. He may be a tiny guy, but he comes with a big personality and one important rule: you have to earn your way into his inner circle. Andy spent the first year of his life surrounded by lots of other dogs but only really knowing one human. So when he came into rescue, he wasn’t exactly convinced that people were all that great. Since then, he’s been learning that humans can actually be pretty wonderful, especially the patient ones. When Andy meets someone new, he needs about five days to a week to conduct his official background check. During that time, his motto is pretty much, “I’m watching you.” But once you pass inspection, the spicy little stranger disappears and out comes a cuddly, playful, kiss-giving little lovebug who wants to be part of the action. Andy is crate trained and has started working on his leash manners, although he’s still not entirely convinced that the leash is a brilliant invention. He does well with other dogs and would love an adopter who understands that his first week or two in a new home may require some extra patience. Andy needs someone willing to go slowly, respect his boundaries, and let him decide when it’s time to become best friends. Give him that chance, and before you know it, you’ll be wondering how the suspicious little guy you first met turned into the cuddliest, silliest, most interactive little sidekick in the house. Andy may make you work for his love, but once you’re in, you’re in.
