Disaster Response

PetSmart Charities of Canada: Providing Critical Aid During Natural Disasters

When natural disasters strike, the PetSmart Charities of Canada team takes swift and compassionate action to deploy Disaster Response funding where it's needed most. The ongoing wildfires in Alberta and Atlantic Canada have already displaced thousands of people and their beloved pets, creating a dire situation that demands immediate attention.

To address this urgent need, PetSmart Charities of Canada is committed to making a meaningful impact. We are proud to announce an initial grant funding of $185,000 to support our valued partners, including the Nova Scotia SPCA and Northern Lights Regional Humane Society, as they bravely navigate the front lines of disaster relief efforts.

Supporting Our Partners

Our grant funding serves as a lifeline for these remarkable organizations as they tirelessly work to safeguard the well-being of pets and their owners during these trying times. Here's how PetSmart Charities of Canada is making a difference:

1. Keeping Evacuated Pets Safe

Our partners are on the ground, ensuring that evacuated pets are safe and cared for. From providing temporary shelter to ensuring they receive proper medical attention, the Nova Scotia SPCA and Northern Lights Regional Humane Society are unwavering in their commitment to animal welfare.

2. Rescuing Pets in Danger

When disaster strikes, pets can find themselves in perilous situations. Our funding enables our partners to go behind fire lines, risking their own safety to rescue pets trapped in danger zones. Their dedication and bravery in these moments are truly inspiring.

3. Supporting Pet Parents

In addition to assisting pets directly, our partners are also extending a helping hand to pet parents in their communities. Access to essential supplies like food, litter, and other necessities can make a world of difference during a crisis. PetSmart Charities of Canada is proud to support these initiatives.

Join Us in Making a Difference

At PetSmart Charities of Canada, we believe that pets are family, and their well-being is of utmost importance. Together with our partners, we are committed to providing aid, comfort, and hope to those affected by natural disasters.

If you would like to support our efforts and help us continue providing crucial assistance to pets and their families in need, please consider making a donation. Your generosity can make a significant impact during these challenging times.

As we stand together in the face of adversity, we extend our deepest gratitude to our partners, volunteers, and supporters who make our mission possible. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them.
