California Wildfires Disaster Response Update - 1/17/2025
As California wildfire recovery efforts progress, we continue to work with organizations near and far, including the American Red Cross, to deliver vital aid to the pets and people affected.
We’ve now approved $180,000 in grant funding for local and national animal welfare groups to support them in their efforts to care for rescued and displaced pets, while also helping displaced families by replacing essential pet supplies.
We will continue to accept Disaster Relief grant applications from partner organizations working in impacted communities. Both animal welfare and human services organizations with pet programming can apply for support via the PetSmart Charities Disaster Response Grant Portal.
If a pet parent is seeking pet resources or supplies, the Pasadena Humane Society has established a hotline 626.577.3752 to call for support.

We’ve already approved $170,000 in grant funding for local animal welfare groups such as Los Angeles Animal Services and CAMP in their efforts to care for rescued and displaced pets, while also supporting displaced families by replacing essential pet supplies.
