My story

My name is Onyx an almost 2 years old bull terrier and Labrador mix and I am a funny young girl with a big personality. I am a 47 pound playful, smart, and curious puppy, who is a bit shy at first but always ready to make human friends. I enjoy walks, play time, being out of the kennel, kibble treats and naps. I am a good pooch and an active family would be my ideal humans. I enjoy calm moments as much as I enjoy playtime. I am dog selective so I need to be the only canine in your home and that would be super slick! Are you able and ready to provide me with fetch time as I enjoy toys and spiky balls? Since I am still a puppy, training is something I look forward to and need. I had a rough start to my life and came to the shelter when I was 7 months old and in need of major knee surgery with a long recovery. I am physically better but mentally I need to jump ship and start some smooth sailing with my forever family. I have become attached to many volunteers at the shelter, and I am responding to ‘sit’ commands and to my name most of the time when I am called. I like structure and consistency, and I really enjoy sitting close to my humans for body rubs and touch. At the shelter I feel loved and safe but, I am beyond ready to settle into home life. One day when I know I am safe with you, and realize that yours is my forever home, I know that something magical will happen between us.
