My story

Hey there! My name is Colton. I'm an 4 Year old neutered male Siberian Husky. I weigh 60 pounds. I'm exactly what you would expect from a Husky , sweet, happy, and energetic. Oh yeah, and I also happen to be absolutely adorable! Here's my story...I was found on the streets in a pretty bad part of town, and then brought to the city shelter at 8 months old. It's anyone's guess how a sweet and innocent puppy like me was able to survive out there on the streets, but I did it. I guess I'm a pretty brave dog! Once I got to the pound, the vet examined me and noticed that my left eye was protruding and opaque. I was diagnosed with Glaucoma, which rendered me blind in that eye. Unfortunately, the city shelters don't usually have the means to get their dogs the medical care they need, so there I sat, very uncomfortable, and hoping for some relief. Then one day, my luck changed. A friendly volunteer took one look at me, and they knew that CageFree would come to my rescue. And guess what - they did! They pulled me from the shelter and sent me to their personal vet, where my diagnosis of Glaucoma was confirmed. It was determined that the most effective course of treatment would be to remove the affected eye. After I healed from surgery I was quickly adopted! I couldn't believe what great luck I had! The family who adopted me provided me with all I could have wanted - food to eat, a roof over my head, and a warm bed to sleep in with lots of love and affection. We used to spend lots of quality time together. Whether it was getting outdoors for some exercise or relaxing on the couch, I enjoyed it all. After 3 1/2 great years together, My owners had some unfortunate events take place and were no longer able to keep me. I suddenly found myself at the rescue. No fault of my own. They'd always told me I was such a good boy! They love me very much and want to make sure I get the best home possible. Luckily, the kind people at CageFree felt the same way. Now, I know what you're probably thinking, but hear me out. One-eyed dogs are awesome and unique! If you adopt me, I'll bet you'd be the only one on your block with an adorable one-eyed Husky . Once you get to know me, and fall in love with my personality, you won't even miss the eye.I am 100% visual out of my right eye, so blindness won't be an issue. I want to run, jump and play all day long. Except when I'm napping or snuggling, of course. So, what do you say? Are you an active family that's looking for a sweet, spunky guy to liven up the house? Do you think you can handle all of the attention you're undoubtedly going to receive by having a cute one-eyed husky by your side? If your answer is yes, you might be the family for me! Please contact CageFree if you would like to arrange a time to meet me. I'll be waiting!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt COLTON (video), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
