My story

Anyone looking for a quarantine buddy? Penny is sweet pup who loves to cuddle or be near her human. She was born in approximately November 2016 Her early puppy months lacked appropriate training and socialization, so she has been in foster learning to live in a home and how to be a good pup. She is a pit mixed with a super skinny breed (maybe a Whippet or Italian Greyhound) and she weighs ~50 lbs. She likes humans but needs to be the only dog in the house. Penny would benefit greatly from additional, positive training. She still has a little naughty puppy inside that shows itself sometimes. Her other growth opportunity involves interacting appropriately with dogs. She ignores a clear correction from a dog that does not want to play and bites their ears to get them to interact with her. Therefore, she cannot be taken to a dog park or any other location where she is allowed to interact off leash or unsupervised with another dog. Her home must have a secure, fenced yard. She sometimes chews so she securely confined when left alone. She does not like crates but is OK in a pen. She jumps, mouths, and resource guards so her home must not include kids. She is spayed, up to date on shots including rabies, has tested negative for heartworm, microchipped & comes with a 2018 Hamilton County dog license (good in surrounding counties). Please note that approved applications do not guarantee adoption as a meeting and home visit may also take place. If you want to be her special human please complete an adoption application first. Go to http://www.shelteredpaws.com/adoption fill out the application online using the blue 'adoption application' button on the Sheltered Paws adoption page or go to https://form.jotform.us/71915229253154 to access the Adoption Form Questionnaire. If you have specific questions not covered above you can email her foster family at spcashelteredpaws@gmail.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Penny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
