My story

THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO ADOPT - THEY EUTHANIZED SHADOW WITHOUT EVEN ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT SRC ABOUT THEIR "ISSUES" This is their "review" Sue Hierl doesn't recommend Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati. November 27 at 10:52 AM · We adopted Shadow whose picture is still on this site. We loved him dearly, hired a trainer to try & stop his biting. He would attack randomly & not allow us to even brush him. We had him 10 weeks. Sunday he ran up the body of one of us trying to bite. We squirted him & followed directions from our trainer. He was sweet sometimes & would sit by me letting me pet him. Yesterday we took him to the vet to get his nails clipped because he wouldn’t let us do it. He had been digging at his ear & we had that checked too. While we were there he randomly attacked another lady in the waiting room. He didn’t get her because we had him under control but it could have been bad. It turned out he had an ear infection & would require daily meds but wouldn’t let us do it. We have all been bit numerous times & it wasn’t getting better. I still loved him even after all the blood loss. Yesterday because of the ear infection & him not allowing us to do anything that we made the extremely difficult decision. Our vet said he never should have been adopted out! So it was left to us to do the hard thing & decide to send him to doggy heaven. I’ve cried so much but know it was the right thing. He was afraid of just about everything. We never should have had to go through this ordeal! This group was negligent by putting him up for adoption. Not only did we all get bit numerous times trying to work with him but it broke my heart to do what they should have done! Be aware!!! Shadow has come a long way since entering rescue! He came in fearful and would act out but now is a total snuggle bug. He has some puppy still in him and needs a home that is willing to be patient and keep him on his successful path. He loves toys and playing! He can tear a squeaker to shreds in moments so make sure to get him the heavy-duty toys. His other favorite things are burrowing under the blanket to cuddle, give kisses, and run around outside. He needs a fenced in yard and no children. He has lots of energy (he can leap a couch and jump on a king size bed!) and love to give. He just may need some time to open up and trust you. Shadow gets along with the other dogs, but we recommend feeding them separately as he can barge in on their food. Speaking of food, Shadow eats Royal Cannin Urinary SO dry food but is a healthy boy, otherwise. Shadow will make a great dog for the right home and provide you with both entertainment and cuddles. His is being fostered in Cincinnati by Jim and Kristy. His adoption fee is only $450. If you are interested in SHADOW, please go to our web site (click below). Once there - click on the "INFORMATION" tab and select "ADOPTION FORM" SRC #2019-01-01

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shadow~AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
