Your application stays with us for 90 days, so if you miss out on this one.. keep looking, we want you to rescue a dog!! Goldie's story is a sad one. He was adopted by a gentleman who really loved him and was going to use him as a service dog. His adopter only had him 18 days and the gentleman passed away. But before that, Goldie was adopted and returned because the family’s dog was quite a bit smaller than Goldie, and Goldie liked to pounce on her back when in play. It was a lot on her back and was starting to hurt her, so they decided it was best to return him. Before that home, Goldie was surrendered by his original owner who had had him since he was a puppy. His owner was admitted to a care facility and could no long care for him. He was very much loved, and you can tell by his sweet ways. Goldie is a 3.5 yr old neutered male and weighs 25 lbs. Goldie loves people and playtime. Whether it is with a human or another dog, he is a great boy. If he could have a playmate (kid or medium size dog would be best), he would enjoy living with you. Submissive and wants to please you. He needs a few skills taught to him, and one of them is not to jump up on you. He learns quickly with repetition. He is smart and is doggy door trained and still squats to potty. IF you have a smaller dog than 15 lbs, please don't apply for him. He is a pure delight when he can play with dogs his size or larger, but too heavy on the smaller dogs. Goldie may have been named after the D-Backs player, but he does have gorgeous wavy, golden fur as he is a Cairn Terrier/ Wirehaired Fox terrier mix. He Loves and behaves in the car, loves riding on a golf cart and enjoys going for walks. Need a sweet boy that will be a great buddy for any family type? (we just don't know how he would do with cats, as the foster doesn't have any). Goldie has had enough heartbreak in his short life. He needs a permanent loving home where he can spend the rest of his life. There must be someone out there that needs a loving companion that can give him the love and home he deserves. Adoption fee for Goldie is $240.00 If you are interested in Goldie, PLEASE complete an application. Once an application is received, it will go in that dogs file for review.
