My story

ADOPTED!!!! Maurice is a calm, sweet, friendly, quiet, submissive 1.5 YO light silver neutered male mini schnauzer with a natural tail. He hasn't met a person or dog he doesn't like! He loves to sit in your lap and snuggle. He follows his fosters whenever they are on the move in the house. But he will also be independent and play with his toys and foster siblings or go out in the fenced yard to sniff and chase the birds away.He loves to play fetch and will return with the toy if not distracted! Maurice gets along with other dogs in the home. He is good at taking social cues from other dogs who don't want to play. He has not been tested with children in the home and we have no background on him, but we feel he should be good with children 10 and over. He is a faster learner. He will go in his crate with a little encouragement. He is doing fairly well with house training. He knows some commands. If you would like to be considered to adopt Maurice, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's adoption application. Please be sure to keep a watch on your Spam and Junk folders if you don't see a response in your email inbox. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered. Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees. We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and southern Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications within a reasonable driving distance of our areas of coverage, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and eastern West Virginia. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. You can donate to Maurice's care at http://schnauzerrescue.net/Donate.htm via PayPal or check. All donations go to the veterinary fund and are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Thanks for your support!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maurice - ADOPTED, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
