This pet is being re-homed thru our adoption/ screening process WHERE IS THIS DOG NOW ?- This pet is currently with is caregiver in Zurich area **ALL ABOUT BENTLEY ** PET INFO: * Requirements : -no apartments/ condo due to his vocalizing -adult home/ teens -someone committed to training to help Bentley be the best he can be. -a existing buddy in the home would be nice as he has always lived with another animal, altho does his own thing. The Animal's name:Bentley Breed of animal:Shitz Zhu cross Date of Birth:2010 Or how long you have had him:9 yrs. Sex: Spayed or neutered:Neutered Color:Beige , with black muzzle Coat length:1 inch Description of markings:Blck muzzle and beige coat Weight:21 lbs. Height:approx 9 inches Are the ears floppy or straight?floppy Energy level ?Normal Any physical special needs ?- blind- deaf- 3 limbs etc?no Any medical special needs ?no HOUSE INFO: Is this animal a house pet?yes Is the animal house-trained?yes Does the animal ever have house-training issues?occasionally How do you handle house-training errors?I just say bad boy Is the animal crate trained?no How is the pet contained if not crated ?run of the house Does the animal chew or scratch household items?no Does it get into the garbage?no YARD INFO: Does the animal dig holes?no Does it try and get over or under fences?dont have fence- use a secure tie out with supervision Is the pet protective of fence space? Is the pet an excessive barker ? or just alerting to things?If he is on a leash and if you are in his site he will bark/ alert. EXPOSURE INFO: What ages of children was it living with?none - If none- has the pet had exposure to kids? Ages? And Reaction ? yes 2mos to 9yrs old I watch him. He sometimes gets annoyed but for the most part he is fine. How does the pet react to kids at a distance/ on leash ?Reaction ?He will bark and sometimes run after them when over stimulated by their actions. Exposure to strangers? reaction on walks or at the door/ in home ? Reaction ?He barks and becomes ferocious/ overly vocal at the door but after calms down. Is it good with cats? reaction?- on/off leash ? Reaction? We have a cat and doesn't bother with her. Is it good with dogs? sizes/ reaction?- on/ off leash? Reaction? He will run and bark then when he gets up to the dog he sniffs him and then he is fine. Is this dog used to sharing its space / toys with other pets/ dogs if visiting etc? Reaction ?My sister had a house fire and she and her dog came to stay with us and he was good with her dog they took tuns sleeping in his bed. -If yes… how does he/she react ? Does it chase after cars, or horses and buggies or bikes- skateboards or people?yes people cyclists Does the dog ride well in the car?yes -if no what are the pets struggles ? Has it been exposed to livestock or horses? yes horses OBEDIENCE / TRAINING : Does the dog play games?no Has this pet had any obedience training?no If yes -Where ? and trainer info if we may contact them for additional feedback/ info ? What commands does it know?sit stay sometimes Does it walk well on leash? Or pull etc?yes What walking tools do you use to walk your dog -{ flat collar, gentle leader, martindale, choke collar, Pinch collar, Harness } - flat collar PERSONALITY/ BEHAVIOURS/ : ** Please be detailed in these questions. No Blanket answers of “Yes/ Sometimes” .We need detailed info to know how best if rescue can help and what the pets needs are for re-training etc .Without this we can not consider , possibly approve or place any dog into foster care” ** Would you say your pet is a stable, well mannered, pet ? no- needs more training -or a bit rough around the edges :needing additional basic training needs? Personality/ reaction- with those it knows? He greets you wagging his tail, happy to see you and likes to sit on your lap or beside you. Personality/ reaction- with strangers ? He barks and keeps his distance- uncertain. Has the animal ever shown/ possession/ aggression/ reactivity to anyone or anything? Yes- paper girl who delivers paper. Has the animal ever bitten in the past? no... but he did target/and grabbing at papergirl's leg. -if yes please explain in good detail situation/ trigger/ outcome, what was the pets reaction/ body signals before the incident ? . The paper girl was delivering papers and handed me the paper he was laying on the porch and next thing I know she started to run across the street and he chased her and nipped at the girl . **Did not draw blood** Are there any behavioral problems? If yes what are they ? yes protective / territorial ? Is there any separation issues?no Are there any fears? thunder grooming vets He shivers and whines at the thunder. Does not cooperate with the groomer, he whines. Are there any possession issues with food/ toys/ space towards people/ kids or other pets ?no ROUTINE: Where is the animal kept during the day?Inside our home. Where is it kept at night?He sleeps in our bed. How long is this animal generally left alone in a day?9 hrs a day Is it ever kept outside, and if so, for how long?no Is it used to being chained or kenneled or running free?running free Have you ever boarded the animal or had a pet sitter in your home environment??.-he shivers as well, he shakes. What is the animal being fed?kirkland brand dog food Is it free fed?no How much per day?1 cup Is it used to bottled water?no Please provide this pets current routine:He is up at 530 on weekdays let outside then back in and lays around until we get home at 330. The best home for this pet would be : No apartments . Someone who can provide love ,training, structure and attention. Adult home / Someone who is older . Older kids if visiting. He is used to pets, so having a buddy might be nice, but needs someone who can help him with better manners, less vocalizing.
