My story

This 18 month old, 15 lb ShihTzu/Terrier mix truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious hugging and kind words will send him over the moon. Remy is such a great age and size...old enough to be past any puppyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many active years ahead. He's also the perfect weight and size to take along everywhere a smaller and very sweet dog is welcome. We can envision Remy with an active retired couple or individual.. or a younger family who desires an adorable and sweet dog as a family member and best companion. Remy would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his favorite people and canine friends. Being a ShihTzu/Terrier, Remy loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He's such a great guy and would be thrilled to come along everywhere an awesome little dog is welcome. Playing at the park, visiting with friends or fine-tuning his urban skills shopping on Pearl Street would speak to the engaging nature of this very sweet little dog. And then at day's end, nothing would make Remy happier than a spot on his favorite person's lap or cuddling together all night long. Remy would be overjoyed to walk along neighborhood paths or gorgeous Colorado trails..enjoying the sunshine and time with his people. Remy can have just a moment of insecurity from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great guy past these feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned again. Remy's basic nature is to be very joyful and positive.. and in just a moment, his silly and fun-loving personality takes over. While we've requested that Remy be neutered/microchipped prior to his arrival in Denver, we're not optimistic that this will occur. If it does not, Farfel's is happy to cover all charges for Remy to be fixed and microchipped if one of our Colorado rescue vets is used. Remy appears to be a non-shedding guy, although it's a bit difficult to tell until his street-sad hair grows out into a gorgeous coat that is consistent with his breed mix. Remy will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is a great choice for longevity and coat care). With this care, Remy's coat will become cottony-soft, very healthy and matt-free. Remy will be arriving on transport in Denver in early August (we'll update when final date is confirmed).
