Petey

My story

Petey is a super gentle, playful pup with the softest puppy fur!!! Petey was rescued from life on a chain 24/7 with no social interaction and complete neglect. Once rescued, he proved that life didn't phase him much at all! He is sweet, social, friendly, playful, and ACTIVE! He has boundless energy to run, and when finished he loves laying on the floor chewing on a toy just soaking life in. He is crate trained and is learning to walk on a leash, although he spends much of his time laying in the grass watching bugs. He LOVES other dogs! He does need a family that will be home to potty train him because when he is left unattended for even a short time he has accidents, because remember, living outside 24/7, no one was around to teach him when and where to go! Petey prefers to keep his open-door crate close by, he does love to chill in there when he is not playing! Petey has been fostered around barn cats and has never done anything to them other than stare at them. He would probably do great with a non-reactive cat. He will need a lot of activity with his new family, either another playful pup in the home, or a child to play football, frisbee, soccer, and run with. With the right training to bring out his full potential he is going to be a loyal, loving, dedicated family member! Petey is about 6 months old, weighs 27 lbs. and is fully vetted. We have absolutely NO idea what his breed mix is, but we do our best to guess based on his appearance. We make no guarantees! We also cannot possibly know how large he will get, although we can be fairly certain he will remain a medium sized dog even once full grown. He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines. He has been neutered and microchipped. He has been given a clean bill of health! He is on monthly heartworm prevention as well as flea/tick preventative.
