Letty

My story

Letty is a 1 year old, German Short Haired Pointer Mix, Black with white ticking who came to us very neglected, under weight at only 11 pounds and fur full of feces/urine. She was very clearly kept in a kennel and not socialized, most of her life. She came to our shelter as a stray from Red Wing. With lots of love and attention, Letty has gained the weight she needs and is ready for adoption. Letty still needs work with socialization and she will need an owner who is willing to put in the effort of training and socializing her. She is very shy with people she first meets, but once she knows them she loves them(as long as they are women). Letty is terrified of men, which doesn't necessarily mean she cant go to a home with men, but a man can not be her main owner. She will need to go to a home with a female who is prepared to take on the roll of her main owner, and if a man is in the home, she will need to gently start socializing her with him-he can not be dominant towards her at all or she will cower in a corner and not trust him. Her perfect home would be with women and no children under the age of 10. Letty loves to play with toys and the people that she trusts. She also loves to be picked up and held like a baby. Letty just wants to be in a home that she wont be cooped up in a kennel, and can live a free life with her new loving family. Letty has a little bit of a different adoption process than what we usually have. Whoever is interested in her will need to come down and spend 1-2 hours with her 3 to 5 days in a row and if she feels comfortable with you, then we will proceed with the adoption, if we feel she is not comfortable with you we will not adopt to you. So we will not adopt out of state, unless you are prepared to take a week off of work to put in this effort. She is now spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. ADOPTION FEE: $400
