Good Morning! Today is a big day for me! I It’s full of firsts and all of them are wonderful! I got to see the nice vet today as I am 8 weeks old. I got checked all over, given my my first set of vaccines and a microchip. It did hurt a bit but it was worth it because the nice vet said I can start looking for my forever home! I am Snuggle of the Cleaning Litter! I am a female mix breed. I weigh 3kgs! I’m the smallest in my litter but what I don’t have in size I make up in personality and bravery. I can’t estimate how big I will be as I’m not sure who my father is. My mother is small, she weighs 23 lbs. I guess my adult size will be a surprise! Now hear this! I am cute! I have the softest fluffy fur and I love to snuggle! I make the cutest little sounds and wag my little tail to get your attention This is how I suck everyone in! It works every time! Please be strong and resist the urge to spoil me! In the long run it will be best in both our interest! Use my quest for attention to your advantage. I have a lot to learn. Make me earn my cuddles as I succeed. Now a little about me. In my foster home there are 4 adult dogs including my mom. Then there are my 5 littler mates. It’s suffice to say that I get along well with other dogs. I play nice with my siblings and have respect for the adults. There are 2 cats in my foster home as well I adore cats! I spend a great deal of time playing with one of the cats here. I really hope my forever home has a cat that will play with me or at least tolerate me! I have met kids but as I am a puppy I will only be adopted to families where children are 3yrs old and up. As a puppy I will require a lot of time, supervision and structure in this formative time of my life. Personality: I am brave. I may be the smallest in my litter but I am the first to try anything new. I am not shy. I can be a bit bossy. I know what I want and I go for it! I’m not afraid to investigate something new in fact I’m always the first. I am noisy! I want to do my thing and I will make sure I tell you about it! Please be persistent, consistent and wait it out, do not give in to me. I have some difficulty settling in my crate. I cry, I protest, stick to it. Use my crate for periods throughout the day for time out, naps and when you need a moment, trust me you’ll need a moment. At night you can keep my crate in your room so I can be close to you but for the love of everything that you hold dear, do not let me out if I fuss! I have a small blanket and a stuffed animal in my crate. You will want cover the crate completely when I am resting inside so I am not distracted by what’s going on outside my crate. Our first few nights together could be hard as I will be away from my siblings. Please don’t feel sorry for me this will not do either of us any good. In no time you will be my world so focus on all the fun and adventures we will have together. Foster mom feeds me in my crate. I often dump my bowl and spill my food. She does sprinkle my kibble with a little bit of water before serving me as it sticks in the bowl a little bit better and won’t scatter as much if I dump it. I sometimes have accidents. I’m a young puppy and this will happen. Keep my leash on and me at your side at all times. Take me outside often especially after sleeping, playing, eating or drinking. When I start sniffing the floor and wandering that’s a good indication that I have to go! Try not to feed me or give me water too late or I may have an accident in my crate. Foster mom takes up the water bowl at 7pm. My leash is a work in progress. I like to put it in my mouth and chew it. I am a puppy after all. I like to put things in my mouth! By holding my leash up out of reach and not letting it fall in front of me, this can be avoided. Foster mom puts my leash on and gently moves forward encouraging me to follow. As I do the tension on the leash releases and that’s my indication to keep going. I get lots of praise and I love this! I will have to keep practicing till I get it perfect. Speaking of my leash keep it on me at all times when I am not in my crate. (Never use my leash in the crate) Using my leash inside the house and outside will help keep me safe, aid in training and will be a great way to catch me should I need to be redirected from doing something I shouldn’t. I have done well at riding in the car but Forster mom uses a travel crate as I am small and like to get into things this will help keep me safe and the car clean! If you are prepared up for all the the ups and downs a puppy can bring into your life, every bit of hard work, training and keeping up on all those important vaccinations and would like to adopt me, Snuggle then please go to www.findingthemhomes.com and fill out an application!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Snuggle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
