My story

Hello, my name is Aaron, and I just turned 1 year old. I have a very sad beginning when I was a puppy but all of that changed and I am living my best life. I was rescued from Las Vegas, NV when I was only a 4 month old puppy. I was flown across the state in several planes to get me to Florida from Nevada so that I could have a chance and not be euthanized. Those pilots were amazing, I received a lot of love from them. I also stayed in a foster home while I was being flown from plane to plane, (which was a lot of fun) and met some really cool dogs and people. I always like to think about the positive! Now what happened to me that I had to fly for so long? Well, you see, I was in a home with several other dogs, and one or maybe two attacked me and they hurt me so bad, specially since I was only 4 months, that my back legs worked no more. I was forced to drag them around as I walked. They hurt really bad and had sores on them, but what people were most amazed at, was that I never lost my smile. Unfortunately, when I arrived in Orlando, the vet that saw me he couldn’t save my legs, therefore, both my back legs were amputated. Later on, things go a bit more complicated and my tail was amputated as well. All of this to make me feel better and give me more mobility. And guess what? I was still smiling. I’ve been in a foster home little over 8 months, recovering and I am finally ready to start looking for a forever home! My foster mommy has taken really good care of me and has me ready for me to find that special family of my own that will love my cute little self. Many people initially when they meet me feel bad, but then when they see me smile, they smile too. You might think a boy like me suffers, but that is so far from the truth, I am a goofy, playful, sweet, love little and big humans, am a natural born charmer, have lots of energy, and best of all I have the best smile in the whole wide world. I do come with my special equipment, my wheels (wheelchair) and also a brand new thing called a drag bag that helps me with my disability or let’s say I just do things my way. I am just like any other dog! Because of my injury that caused incontinence, so I will need a family that is okay with changing my diaper and the occasional accidental mess. I am very much like a human toddler! I have been told that I gained too many pounds while I was healing from my surgeries, so I need someone who will take me on daily walks to help me shed some weight (seriously, who thinks about their weight anyways?) I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. I am ready for my happily ever after, will you be my forever family? Adoption fee is $325 Apply at www.HuskyhavenFl.org
