My story

MEET CHESSIE & JAMES ! These sweet gentle shy bonded brother and sister are looking for their committed forever home. They have already been failed twice. They are the sweetest kindest dogs and deserve some love and stability in their life. Chessie and James have never been apart from the time they were pups. They are very bonded. They are four year old Chocolate Lab/Chesapeake Bay Retriver mixes although she is smaller then most Labs and he is the size of an average large male. His prior owner over-fed him and he has already lost weight since coming back to the rescue. Her weight is perfect. You’ve never seen dogs this color ! They are a taupe/mushroom diluted rust/chocolate. Whoever bred them docked their tails (we don’t know why) so you don’t have to worry about crazy Lab tails clearing off your coffee tables. They are total wiggle butts. Chessie and James used to be very shy. But they were with a family that had a large extended family and lots of kids. And now they just love attention and to be pet. They are 100% housebroken, quiet, kind, sweet, gentle non-barkers. They are shy around a leash as they were never walked and just lay down. But they are now going short distances and do much better together where one can follow the other. A yard would be key for them. They love a shaded overhang and are very low maintenance. If they get to hot they just come in the house and always had access in and out of the yard where they lived. These two babies need all the love and affection they missed out on when they were puppies and in return you will get all the lovin you can get. Chessie likes to walk around with toys in her mouth. James likes to walk around with a big rawhide. Their little wiggle butts never stop wagging. And they love to be pet. They are still a little on the shy side but after a minute or two it all goes away and they want to be in your lap. If you’re interested in meeting these two babies let us know. And we can set up a meet and greet. We will not hesitate to place them in a home with other dogs or kids. They lived with a tiny Chihuahua and they have been around many kids.
