My story

Name: Albie Nicknames: Albs. Fluffernutter. Albatross. Albers. Albatraz. Breed: Shih Tzu / Lhasa Mix Weight: 12 lbs. Sex: Female Age: Approximately 2 Years Before OMD: Found as a stray and became part of the crew as soon as her hold was up at the shelter. Doppelgänger: Falkor from The Neverending Story. What makes her special (needs): She is completely deaf with limited vision and you would never know it. She’s unstoppable. Energy Level: High-ish. Zooming and fetch are daily requirements. Day Job: Spin class instructor at the local YMCA. She's peppy, fearless, confident and energetic. Dream Job: Stunt double. She’s been known to jump off of things without thinking twice, land on her face, and hop up like nothing happened. NBD. FOMO Level: High. Wants to be involved in everything. You’ll never take a relaxing bath by yourself again. What we love most: Her spunky attitude. Her love for snuggles. Her ability to fit into the tiniest of places if it means cuddling with her humans. Her eyes! Her great loves: Being carried. Lap time. Sleeping on her human's pillows and heads. Having her very own chair at the desk so she can work alongside her foster mom #bestcoworkerever. Cheese. Blankets. Toys. Fetch. Working on: Excited mouthiness — pants, slippers, robes and hands are all fair game. Four on the floor. Leash walking. Always needing the last word (read as: very vocal). Dogs: Sure! Fostered with other dogs and likes to play, but she can be squirely when meeting new pups. Will do best with a larger, playful, laid back, confident dog who ignores her sass. Cats: No thanks. She likes to chase, a lot. And bark. We’ve found even our dog-savviest of feline friends don't appreciate her antics. Kids: Yes. Respectful, savvy kids who won't be overwhelmed by her mouthing. Plus parents who are dedicated to teaching kiddos how to live successfully with a special needs dog. House trained: Yep! Crating: Currently her kryptonite but she’s getting better each day. Albie is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states.
