My story

DOB Jan 9th, 2016 Hugo is a sweet teddy bear. He loves attention and cuddles. He sleeps a lot, and it's hard to encourage him to play and do some activities. Hugo always uses his litter box and cleans himself well. He is so well behaved, but he occasionally bite He came to TCR as a stray, but he has seemed so familiar with indoor life from the beginning we think he must have lived in a home at some point in his life Hugo has the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), but his general health condition is currently good. Keeping him inside and following some simple rules can give him a long, happy life alongside healthy cats. Hugo sheds a lot, and his urine has a strong odor. According to his Vet, the shedding is for getting rid of the extra fur he gained for the cold winter. And the urine odor gets better over time. He was neutered recently and still needs time to lose male hormones left in his body. Hugo is slightly overweight and uses grain-free food for now. Hugo has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. He does not require medication. He can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (i.e. deep bite marks). Please do not judge him based on a blood test!
