At this time our adoptions are by SAME DAY appointment only. On the day (Tue-Sat) you're interested in meeting one of these animals, please call 360-352-2510 to make an appointment. (We start answering the phones at 8 AM.) Due to COVID-19 restrictions, walk-ins are not permitted so we can maintain social distancing requirements. Our Working/Barn Cat Program is designed to find feral and community cats safe outdoor homes in barns, warehouses, farms, and other safe locations for cats that are not candidates for our traditional adoption programs. These cats are not well socialized to people. They prefer to live outdoors, in barns or workshops where they can have shelter, food/water, without too much contact with their human caregivers. Why Adopt a Working Cat? Working Cats benefit their caretakers! Supporting a Working Cat is the safest way to control the rodent population in your barn, warehouse, or other storage areas. There are no poisons for children and pets to get into and no need to set nasty traps! Working Cats will help keep rodents away AND you’ll have the satisfaction of giving them a much-needed home. What Will You Provide? A warm, secure, dry building or space for shelter from the elements and predators The space and ability to keep new a new Working Cat confined to a sheltered, small, enclosed area, or large dog crate (with clean litter box) for four to six weeks to acclimate them to their new environment before release Regular/daily food and water Monitoring and providing for the safety and well-being of the cats Willingness to provide licensed veterinary care in the event of injury or illness Our working/barn cat adoption fee is $25 plus any applicable license. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including FVRCP (feline distemper combo) and Strongid (wormer), and are screened for feline leukemia. This cat is not completely feral, but he can be feisty if he decides that he does not want attention. For this reason we feel that he would do better as a primarily outdoor cat. We try to keep our list of available animals up to date, but some may be placed in adoption or adopted out faster than we can get them updated online. If you'd like to check on the status of an animal, please call us at 360-352-2510. This is especially important if you are viewing this animal on any site other than Animal Services' website. We will need the animal's number (we have it listed as the name) in order to look up the animal. “Adoption Pending” means someone is in the process of adopting this pet, but has not yet completed the requirements. Please check back later to see if the animal is available, as we cannot accept reserve applications.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt 129199 - BARN/WORKING CAT, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
