My story

MEET THE MONKEY (aka Prada)! This little lady was brought into the PSPCA health clinic with a variety of issues. Her owners agreed to surrender her so PSPCA could get her back on the right track. After a few days in their wonderful care, PSPCA asked COEL for help taking over where they left off. Her foster parents were smitten with her pocket-pit-bull size and sweet grumpy little mug and swooped in to help her out. The Monkey has turned out to be a hilariously energetic and deeply loving friend. She LIVES for snuggling and snoozing, but also loves a spirited walk. The Monkey adores belly rubs - she will literally lay on her back with a little silly doggie smile for as long as you’ll rub her. She makes silly little goose-honk grunts of pleasure, and will manipulate you with her sad puppy eyes until you are touching her. She also likes to be held like a baby while you’re on the couch. She lives for a warm electric blanket, and if it’s on, she’s on it. Once she’s happy and sleepy, she’s like play dough and you can pretty much pull her around into any position you want so everyone can fit on the couch. If you love giving your pupper lots of love and attention, The Monkey is your gal. The Monkey adores other dogs. She’s very close with our submissive male dog, and is indifferent to our dominant cranky female. She’s a bit of a boss lady herself, so she’d likely enjoy a friend that’s more on the submissive side. She loves sitting on her foster brother’s head, making a little doggie yin yang with him in beds. They love licking each other’s faces after meals, and sleeping together in sun spots. Her foster brother loves to wrestle and play with balls, and while The Monkey isn’t always up for this high-energy activity, she will partake at least once a day. The Monkey transformed from an emaciated, hairless, flaky creature into a gorgeous, shiny, classy little pocket-pittie. The only remnant of any health issues she has is diabetes, which is 100% manageable by diet and is a complete non-issue for her foster parents who had no prior diabetes experience. No cats or small animals for this gal. The Monkey is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She also recently received a dental cleaning and had some benign lumps removed. Interested in adopting her? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt THE MONKEY!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
