My story

**SHEILA HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Sheila, a stunning female German Shepherd in need of a loving forever home. This magnificent girl is estimated to be around three years and is very large for a female, weighing in just under 100 pounds (98 to be exact). Sheila came to Pal's Place in late November 2020 from an overburdened, high-intake, animal control facility in rural Kentucky. Shortly after her arrival, Sheila started showing shows of being pregnant, and on 12/1, Sheila gave birth to a beautiful and adorable litter of perfect pups. She did a phenomenal job raising her babies, who have all found their forever homes, and now it's Sheila's turn. We here at Pal's Place have a soft spot for German Shepherds and have many come through the rescue. We can honestly say that Sheila is one of the most exceptional Shepherds that has ever come through our doors! She embodies the best qualities of the breed. She's even-tempered, affectionate, incredibly loyal, intelligent, and eager to please. Sheila LOVES children and is fostered in a home with them. She is loving, gentle, and kind with not only the resident children but all of their friends who may pass through the house. She can be a bit timid around some men at first, but she warms up very quickly. She is being fostered with two other dogs and gets along well with them too. A romp in the yard and a couple of walks a day are always appreciated but she is more mellow than most young German Shepherds. Sheila is well behaved in the home, crate trained, housebroken, and will use a dog door. Unfortunately, she did test positive for heartworm and Lyme disease when she first came to us. Her treatment for the infections was delayed until her pups were weaned, She has recently completed treatment and is now happy, healthy, and ready for her happily ever after. It's hard to find anything not to love about this girl, and she is a Shepherd lover's dream dog! Sheila is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm treated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee to the rescue is $375. Sheila is in a foster home on Chicago's northwest side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been submitted and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org/adopt/. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for more than a few days after an application has been received and approved for a meeting. Please do not apply to adopt unless you are ready to welcome a dog into your home. We expect this girl to be very popular, so get your application in today! • Sheila's adoption fee is $375. This donation helps to cover her spay, initial vaccines, initial worming, and microchip. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like Sheila and her pups from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application, and please put the name of the dog in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up in there. • All of our dogs are in foster homes are can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sheila (ADOPTED!), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
